Indicator 4

Teachers shall base classroom assessment of student learning on school-wide and course-specific rubrics.

 What to Look for:

Does the school use school-wide rubrics which reflect the agreed upon levels of performance for each of the school-wide academic expectations? Does the school use teacher-generated and/or departmental rubrics to measure course-specific expectations?

  • the school uses the rubrics and indicators of successful accomplishment it developed to accompany the mission (See Standard 1, Indicator 4) to assess individual student achievement of each of the school-wide academic expectations
  • teachers use course-specific rubrics and indicators of successful accomplishment to assess individual student achievement of course-specific learning goals
