The school’s student support services shall be consistent with the school’s mission and expectations for student learning.
What to Look for:
Do the student support services provided by the school complement the school’s mission and expectations for student learning? Are the policies and practices of the various support services personnel consistent with the mission?
- all support services personnel engage in practices consistent with the school's mission and expectations for student learning
- in establishing practices and policies related to support services (e.g., health services, SPED, guidance, counseling), the school uses the mission and expectations for student learning as a guide
- the guidance curriculum supports the school’s mission and expectations for student learning (e.g., students develop graduation plans that ensure they achieve the expectations; counselors encourage students to participate in activities related to civic expectations, such as community service)
