2011 Standards
2011 STANDARDS
The 2011 Standards for Accreditation were approved by the NEASC Board of Trustees on March 5, 2009. For more than a year, a committee of educators from across New England worked to develop the new standards which will become effective in 2011. The committee, under the leadership of Ted Hall, principal at Yarmouth High School in Yarmouth, Maine, and a member of the Commission from 2002 - 2008, gathered feedback from member schools via surveys and regional forums held in the fall 2008. The Commission on Public Secondary Schools approved the Standards at its January 2009 meeting.
At the Showcase of Model School Programs on October 15, 2008, Ted showed a powerpoint presentation which outlines some of the key changes from the current set of Standards for Accreditation to the new draft.
Member schools should visit the "Getting Started" tab frequently as new materials in support of the Standards will be added in 2009.
