Building Relationships with Diverse Students: Supporting Students of Color (April 16, 2024)
Educators and equity practitioners Vilenti Tulloch and Dr. Timothy Allen introduce multiple concepts and strategies that are essential to educators as they form relationships with students of color. An introduction to unconscious bias, providing tough love, being a warm demander, practicing deep listening, and creating a third space are discussed. How to develop both self-awareness and the ability to form deep connections with students from different cultural contexts are reviewed. Strategies will apply to: students in grades K-12; public and private school contexts: schools with high or low levels of diversity.

This webinar was hosted in partnership with the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS).
